On 21 October, at 6:00 pm, at the Palacete das Artes in Salvador de Bahia, Italy’s Ambassador to Brazil, Francesco Azzarello, and the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute of Rio de Janeiro, Livia Raponi, will inaugurate the show “Triennale di Milano. History through posters”. Salvador was chosen as the first city in Brazil to pay tribute to the important community, to Italy’s lesser known but great architectural contributions to the strong local demand for Italian culture. The exhibition will close on 11 December 2022.

Set up by the Italian Cultural Institute alongside the Triennale di Milano, an international point of reference for Italian design enthusiasts, the exhibition celebrates the centennial of the Foundation, instituted in 1923. The inauguration will be attended by exhibition curator Marco Sammicheli, Director of the Triennale’s Design Musum, Italy’s Consul in Recife, Nicoletta Fioroni, and Italy’s Honourary Consul in Salvador, Andrea Garziera.

Ambassador Azzarello said that “the Triennale is a source of inspiration, owing to its interdisciplinary nature, its creativity and its Italian know-how. I hope this show may foster a new dialogue and consolidate cultural collaboration between Italy and Brazil, even at a state level”.

“Triennale Milano is an essential laboratory that can help us zero in on the collective construction of the present and future, while also focusing on present-day challenges, as indicated by the topics of the most recent editions”, Director Raponi pointed out.
