Undersecretary Tripodi on a mission to Prague – Celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Cultural Institute

Sunday, 18 December, the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, delegated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, opened the concert of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples at the Rudolfinum concert hall in Prague, organized by the Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Farnesina as the closing event for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the first Italian Cultural Institute in Prague.

“We are celebrating a century of Italian cultural diplomacy during which, thanks to the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, the founding values of Italian identity have spread across the five continents, with a view to constant exchange and dialogue with international partners,” said the undersecretary. “We entrust the Italian Cultural Institutes in the world with the task of becoming outposts of the Italian language and culture, places of encounter and comparison between our culture and that of the host Country, capable of communicating an updated image of Italy and telling the wealth and depth of our culture in its many aspects. It is a matter of highlighting our many excellences, as is happening this evening with opera and opera singing, also looking to the promotion of our Country’s younger generations.”

During her trip to Prague, the Undersecretary also met with Jiri Kozak, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, with whom she reviewed the excellent bilateral relations in the field of politics, economics and culture. Undersecretary Tripodi also presented to Minister Kozak Rome’s candidacy to host Expo 2030.
