Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Maria Tripodi is on a mission to Paris, where she attended the UNESCO General Assembly and met with delegates from the Bureau International des Expositions from Japan, Chile, Cook Islands, Liberia, Suriname, and Slovenia to promote the ExpoRoma2030 candidacy.
The Undersecretary, accompanied by the Italian Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Ambassador Liborio Stellino, also held bilateral meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Geoffrey Ian Hanley, and the Head of Government of Andorra, Xavier Espot Zamora.
Undersecretary Tripodi underlined the role of EXPO Roma 2030 as an instrument of cooperation between countries and a driving force for developing economic, scientific, and cultural synergies. The Undersecretary went on to stress that Italy’s experience in organising major international events translates into the ability to provide the logistical support for the construction of the pavilions, as well as the availability of financial assistance to those countries that need it, in order to ensure fair and inclusive participation, in the name of the values underpinning the candidacy and supported by the European institutions.
