UPDATE PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE – Second day of XIV Plenary Meeting of the Guardia di Finanza Expert Officers (Farnesina, 7 March 2023)

JOINT PRESS ACCREDITATION NOTE

On 7 March 2023, the second day of the XIV Plenary Meeting of the Guardia di Finanza Expert Officers on duty abroad will be held at the Farnesina in the International Conference Room. The works will start at 10.00 a.m. with the welcome speeches by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, and the Commander General of the Guardia di Finanza, General Giuseppe Zafarana. A speech by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, is scheduled to follow.

The meeting will continue in a closed-door format with the participation of 25 officers posted to Italian Missions around the world, as designated under the MAECI-GdF Memorandum of Understanding of May 2021. The meeting is the most important event for examining in depth the structured cooperation established between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Guardia di Finanza (the Inland Revenue Police) in many areas. During the event, the officers who operate abroad to combat tax evasion and economic-financial crime will be provided with up-to-date information on issues of common interest to the two Authorities and guidance on the specific geographical contexts in which they operate.

At the end of the institutional speeches – at approximately 10.30 a.m. – there will be a photo opportunity. The event will not be broadcast via live streaming.

Media representatives interested in covering the opening session of the second day and the photo opportunity at the Farnesina may apply for accreditation by sending their request to the following e-mail address: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it (tel. 06 3691 3432 – 8573 or 3078), attaching the following:
