Course for Opera Singers

The “Accademia d’Arti e Mestieri dello Spettacolo Teatro alla Scala” is one of the world’s premiere institutions for comprehensive professional training in all artistic, technical, and managerial areas of the performing arts.

Since 2005, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has been awarding 9-month scholarships to young foreign artists selected by the Academy according to criteria of artistic excellence.

These include opera singers from around the world who pass the Academy’s strict auditions. From 2007 to 2011 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation – Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation also sponsored the large “European Orchestra” training project, by granting yearly 2-month scholarships to ten instrumentalists from prestigious music schools of two different Countries.

For the academic year 2021-2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offered eight 9-month scholarships to foreign students. Scholarships were awarded to students who had successfully passed the 1st year of the Course for Opera Singers in the previous academic year, or that were successfully selected by the Academy for a new scholarship starting from the academic year 2021-2022.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will offer 9-month scholarships for the Course for Opera Singers also for the academic year 2022-2023. The exact number of scholarships will be determined during the current financial year 2022. For information, please see:

Master “Performing Arts Management”

From 2017 onwards the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has offered also 6-months scholarships for the “Performing Arts Management” Master. The course aims to give young foreign professionals a global perspective on the world of the performing arts, in order to couple cultural and artistic knowledge with economic and managerial skills.

For the academic year 2021-2022 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offered seven 6-month scholarships to foreign students.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will offer 6-month scholarships also for the academic year 2022-2023. The exact number of scholarships will be determined during the current financial year 2022.
