Lampedusa shipwreck: deeply painful, an immense tragedy, says Bonino

Minister Emma Bonino expressed “pain and shock” at the news of the Lampedusa shipwreck, calling it “an immense tragedy”. “Rescuers arrived immediately”, Bonino underscored, “but the tragedy was worsened by the cold. They don’t know how to swim or which way to go”. The minister also pointed out that “the 400 migrants on another boat have been saved”, reiterating that this was an “immense tragedy”.
