Turkey: Italcertifer awarded contract in Turkey
The announcement was made that Italcertifer, one of the FS group, has been chosen to certify Turkish railways’ new Irmak-Zonguldak line (over 420 km). It was specified that the firm would focus its work on the technical aspects of security assessment of infrastructure and superstructure, telecommunications and control systems, and control command and signalling. The contract, the annonucement reads, was awarded to Italcertifer by the Turkish construction company Yapi-Merkezi and by Bombardier, the two firms building the new railway line. The complete contract is valued at one million euro. The certification process, the note concludes, will take one year, in accordance with construction timescales.
