China: Pro Ship to build new shipyard for KingKey
China’s KingKey Group has awarded the Italian Pro Ship the contract to design and build a shipyard and small marina in the Fang Cheng region, about 150 km south of Nanning. The yard will build yachts for the Asian market, with an investment of 500 million RMB (about 60 million euros). Pro Ship will draw up the strategic plan, including the design and organisation of the yard. It will also design all the models to be produced in Fang Cheng and develop the related marketing initiatives. Based in La Spezia, Pro Ship designs yachts (structures, interiors etc) and marinas (ports and infrastructure). It collaborate with major Italian boatyards (including Benetti, Azimuth, San Lorenzo and Fincantieri) and has been active in China for several years. It has an office in Xiamen, in Fujian province. Pro Ship has worked on a number of projects for Oriental Blue Bay, a major tourism, real estate and port development project located near Ningbo. Source: infoMercatiEsteri.
