USA: Chrysler sales up 6% in December, best since 2007
Chrysler sold 161,007 vehicles in the U.S. in the month of December, up 6% over the same period in 2012 (152,367), its 45th consecutive growth month. Jeep and Ram Trucks both had double-digit increases compared with December 2012, while Fiat sales were up 1%. The new Fiat 500L, launched in June, delivered a +52% over the previous month of November. Ram Truck sales were up 22%, ahead of all the other Chrysler models. Dodge was down 9% compared with the same period last year, to 47,689 vehicles, but up 14% considering the overall sales performance of Dodge Dart, Durango and Challenger. Dodge Charger sales were also up 29% over December 2012 and, finally, Jeep stood out with a 14% increase.
