DEI/Sole 24 ore – Italy: Decree establishing new “brand” submitted to Senate

Italy: Decree establishing new “brand” submitted to Senate

“The decree establishing the ‘Italian Quality’ brand, of which I was first signatory, was approved today by the Senate’s Industry Committee. The public consultation has now started with the representatives of employers and workers to arrive at a plan that meets with true agreement by the parties”. The announcement was made by the Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Valeria Fedeli (PD).

“The creation of the Italian quality brand comes a time when Europe is awaiting the first steps […] on a ‘label of origin’ and is designed to protect and enhance Italian quality and excellence. It is a collective brand, voluntary and owned by the Italian state. It can be added to the ‘made in’ label, which enterprises can use as long as their fiscal domicile is in Italy”, continued Fedeli. “It is a guarantee against counterfeiting, a guarantee in which to invest resources to promote ‘Italian Quality’ branded products in global markets. A course of action that must be a priority for the Government and Parliament in 2014”. Source: Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor
