Melbourne – Australians contemplate Piranesi’s views

Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778) was an 18th century Italian architect, antiquarian, landscape artist and urban designer, but his etchings are among his best known and appreciated contributions to world culture. A selection of his works from the collections of noble Englishmen will be on display for the first time in Australia at Melbourne’s national library as of 22 February. Read more, in Italian
