Growth Diplomacy – 7th MFA-Bank of Italy Conference

The current global economic and political context, and the internationalisation of businesses and System Italy, will be the central focus of the annual high level conference dedicated to generating collaboration between the foreign ministry and the Bank of Italy.


Support for the internationalisation of businesses


Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini will join Governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco this morning in opening the conference sessions at the Bank of Italy Headquarters in Rome’s Palazzo Koch by. Central to discussions will be the international trade scenario in the light of multilateral and regional accords, policies in support of the internationalisation of Italian businesses and political and economic developments in the Middle East and Northern Africa. This afternoon’s conclusions will be drawn by MFA Secretary General Michele Valensise and Head of the Department of Economics and Statistics, Eugenio Gaiotti.


Opportunity for joint reflection on themes of strategic common interest


As it has in previous editions, the conference will offer an important opportunity for joint reflection on themes of strategic common interest and is, in particular, dedicated to the financial experts of the Bank of Italy in service at the diplomatic missions of Berlin, Brussels, Cairo, Istanbul, Moscow, New Delhi, Paris, Beijing, Sao Paolo and Washington. The Bank of Italy also has delegates in London, New York and Tokyo.
