Lebanon: Italian agricultural and food exports
Lebanon continues to be a particularly interesting market for the Italian food sector. 2013 saw an increase of over 17% in food exports to the country, taking the total to 57.8 million dollars. During the recent HORECA fair, the Italian Pavilion (130 square metres) was the biggest national exhibition space, with over 20 Italian brands represented. The fair focuses on the catering sector, the hospitality and food products sectors, and related machinery and equipment. The exhibition, which lasted 5 days and extended over 10,000 square metres, attracted more than 300 exhibitors and saw more than 20 events each day. From 2010 to 2012 Lebanon’s food, drink and tobacco imports increased by 23% to 1.4 million dollars, staying largely unchanged in 2013 (1.41 million dollars). Source: infoMercatiEsteri
