Farnesina Open Doors: Artistic heritage is Italy’s calling card, says Mogherini

Italy’s artistic and cultural heritage is “our country’s main calling card” and “possibly the most powerful and effective way to present ourselves to the world”, said Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini as she joined Minister for Culture Dario Franceschini in presenting a new mounting of the Farnesina contemporary art collection that includes some recently added works.

The minister underscored that “we are trying to offer the world a response to the continuing demand for Italy”. “The choice of contemporary art”, Mogherini added, “is also an indication of our hopes for the future”.
