Fondo StrategicoItaliano (FSI) finalised the operation to cede 40% of Ansaldo Energia to the Shanghia Electric Corporation, a world leader in the production of machinery for electrical power generation and mechanical equipment. A press release specified that the sale, announced on 8 May last, was completed with the obtaining of government and international antitrust authorisations. Following the operation, FSI will continue to hold 44.84% of Ansaldo Energia, and also announced that two joint ventures between Ansaldo Energia and SEC had recently become operational. These had been announced on the occasion of the signing of the accord and concern, respectively, the production of gas turbines for the Asian market and the development of an R&D centre in Shanghai.
