In a joint venture with the most important Australian infrastructure company, Leighton Holdings, Rizzani de Eccher has won a contract worth 300 million AUD (201 million euro) for the first stage of the WestConnex project. This consists of widening the stretch of M4 motorway linking Homebush with Parramatta, one of the busiest and most congested areas of Sydney. The contract envisages the construction of 2.1 km of viaducts, starting in January 2015.
WestConnex, one of the most important infrastructure projects currently under way in Australia, is funded by the Federal and New South Wales governments. With an estimated cost of about 11 billion AUD (7.4 billion euro), the project envisages 4 operational stages, the first of which is to widen the M4 motorway from 3 to 4 lanes in both directions.Source: infoMercatiEsteri.
