Saipem has won the contract for 2 lots (numbers 4 and 5) for the new Al-Zour refinery. The lots are worth 475 Kuwaiti dinars (1.4 billion euro) and 454,256 million dinars (1.3 billion euro) respectively. The client for both tenders is the Kuwait National Petroleum Company. Lot 4 consists of storage tanks, pipes and underground works, for which Saipem is part of a consortium with the Indian company, Essar. Lot 5 concerns the construction of Marine Facilities. In this case, the winning consortium consists of Saipem plus Hyundai Engineering and Construction and SK Engineering and Construction, both based in South Korea. The contract is expected to last 45 months.
