The Italian Cultural Institutes are structures which operate abroad to disseminate and promote Italian culture. They are part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The work they perform varies greatly from one Institute to the next, not least in the light of the countries in which they are based. In addition to promoting initiatives and events to foster a knowledge and understanding of Italian culture, the Institutes are also a base for the dissemination and promotion of the Italian language throughout the world.
With the help of this week’s guests, Gina Giannotti and Giovanni Pillonca, from the MFA’s cultural division, we’ll find out how the Directors of the Italian Cultural Institutes work and how they succeed in performing the many tasks assigned to these important structures.
