Guatemala – ‘Avant-Garde XXI’ Exhibition opens

“Avant-garde XXI: Art and fashion in Italy and Guatemala” is the title of an exhibition organised and hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Guatemala City, which will run from Feb. 9 to 23. This collective exhibition is a preview of a show that Guatemalan artists and fashion designers will hold in March at the Angelica Gallery in Rome and is part of the “Guatemala es Guatemala” project involving nine artists from the country: five painters, three sculptors and a photographer. The group visited Italy in the spring of 2014, stopping for a few days in Albenga to work with the artists of the “Friends of Art” club, to discover the wealth of archaeological and historical heritage of the “City of Towers” and surrounding areas.
