The Italian Institute of Culture in Istanbul seeks a director of excellent repute. Applications must be received by the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the deadline of 28 March 2016. The appointment will be for a period of two years, renewable only once for an equal period of time. As stated in the call for applications, the director represents the Institute, maintains relations with the cultural figures and institutions of the host country and is responsible for the cultural activities performed by the Institute itself, planning and coordinating its activities and services, as part of his/her guidance and supervision functions. In particular, the director maintains relations with the relevant diplomatic/consular representation, draws up the annual programme of activities and promotes initiatives and events suited to portraying the richness and relevance of Italian culture in its various forms of expression; implements appropriate linguistic and cultural initiatives, with particular reference to Italian communities, in addition to organising services and managing personnel, managing the Institute’s finances and administering the assets it receives. Furthermore, the director produces an annual report on the activities performed, sending it to the relevant diplomatic/consular representation, as well as drawing up a budget and final statement and submitting them to the ministry once a year.
