Los Angeles – Focus on a development project exhibition by the Foreign Ministry

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has organised, in partnership with the Agenzia Contrasto, a photographic exhibition called “4 Development Projects”, which will open today at the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Los Angeles and which is scheduled to run through the summer. “The show – reads a presentation note by the IIC – aims to show our Country’s concrete commitment in implementing development programmes, which constitute a substantial part of our foreign policy.”

The show consists of photographs of several development cooperation projects implemented in 2015 by the Agency’s four renowned photographers: Magnum Abba, Jerome Sessini, Jean Gaumy and Stuart Franklin. The projects were implemented in: Ethiopia – Agricultural production in Oromia; Guatemala – Cafe’ y Caffe’ project to improve the quality and increase the differentiation of coffee bean productions and to support small producers; Kenya – agro-hydraulic development project in the Kerio Valley through the Sigor Programme; Senegal – Project to support female education and women’s empowerment for an inclusive local development.
