Brazil – Sergio Camiz’s “Journey to Brazil” opens

An exhibition by Italian photographer Sergio Camiz has opened at the Latin American Institute for Advanced Studies (Ilea) and will run until 27 June, 2016. A “Journey to Brazil”, organised by the Italian Institute of Culture (IIC) in Sao Paulo in collaboration with the hosting university, is featured in the programme of the “Year of Italy” in Latin America.
Sergio Camiz graduated in photography from the Claudio Colagrande photography school in 1971, and contributed that year to “Mezzogiorno 70”, a book produced by the “Cassa per il Mezzogiorno”, a public fund that promotes the development of the south of Italy. He was in charge of the covers of magazines such as  “Suono Stereo HiFi” and “Stereoplay” and took their editorial photographs. He also worked on the Catalogue of Cultural Heritage from 1974 to 1976. The monthly “Le Vie d’Italia”, the newspaper “Il Messaggero”, and the Bolaffi Catalogue of Italian Photography also published his photos.
The “Year of Italy” in Latin America is sponsored by the Foreign Ministry with the collaboration of the Ministries of Culture and Tourism, Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), the Conference of Italian University Rectors and a number of companies.
