Melbourne – Promoting Italy as a tourist destination begins in Australian airports

In Australia promoting Italy begins in airports. The Italian Consulate General in Melbourne has launched a campaign to promote Italy as a tourist destination at Melbourne’s international airport. The Consulate has leased eight advertising panels in the baggage claim area of the international terminal which will alternate the screening of three short video clips on the beauties of Italy for six weeks. “The aim is to intercept the numerous Australian tourists in transit in the airport in addition to the mostly Asian travellers coming to Australia. Close to a million people are forecast to transit in the baggage claim area during our advertising campaign,” said Italian Consul General, Marco Maria Certo. He added: “The initiative was implemented with funds saved from operating expenses in 2015.”
