Thailand: Bangkok’s MRT System soon to be expanded
The Thai government has announced the imminent publication of three calls for tender in the month of June, to build three new lines of Bangkok’s Mass Rapid Transit system for a total value of 221.2 billion baht (5.67 billion euros). The initiative is part of the project to extend the city’s MRT underground system, which has only one line at the present time. The goal is to have a seven-line system by 2025. Two lines are being built, three have been approved and two are being planned.
