Brazil – The Association of Italian Researchers founded in Brazil

The Association of Italian Researchers in Brazil has been founded at the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, which supported the initiative. The Embassy hosted the constituent assembly for the organisation, which was attended both in person and by video-conference by 15 Italian professors and researchers from various local universities, who represented the three scientific macro-categories: Humanities; Life and Physical Sciences; and Engineering. The assembly, presided by the Embassy’s scientific attache’ Roberto Bruno, was opened by Minister-Counsellor Filippo La Rosa, who conveyed the Embassy’s greetings and confirmed its full support. The assembly subsequently approved the association’s statutes and appointed its Governing Board, composed of professors: Simone Battistini (Aerospace Engineering at the Universidade de Brasilia, UnB); Gabriele Cornelli (Philosophy, at the same university); and Giulia Crippa (Information Science, University of Sao Paolo, USP). The Board appointed Mr Battistini as Chairman.
