Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs Vincenzo Amendola opened the meeting on “Progress in the Implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Lifting EU Sanctions on Iran”.
The meeting was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation together with Confindustria, the Italian Banking Association ABI and other associations to provide clarification and guidance to the economic and financial agents interested in the Iranian market.
In his speech, Undersecretary Amendola highlighted Italy’s commitment to help relaunch economic and trade relations with Iran in a broader strategic context and to solve the remaining critical issues in the financial and banking sector.
The event was also attended by representatives of the European External Action Service who provided updates on implementation issues regarding the JCPOA agreement, almost six months after Implementation Day.
