Iran – 25 Lombard companies in Teheran for business seminar

The Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mining and Agriculture of Tehran will host the “Iran-Lombardy Region Business Seminar” organised for 25 Lombardy enterprises, to be attended by the deputy governor of the Lombardy Region, Fabrizio Sala, and the Italian Ambassador in Tehran, Mauro Conciatori. Federico Bega, director of Promos, an agency of Milan’s Chamber of Commerce and one of the rapporteurs at the seminar, highlighted that the 25 new enterprises “add on to the 274 that have already been brought to Tehran”.

“The Lombardy Region accounts for 40 percent of Italian exports to Iran, and in the first six months of 2016 there has been a 27 percent rise in exports compared to the same period in 2015,” added Mr Bega.

Most of the exports to Iran are “industrial machinery, electronics, plastic material, furniture, and haute couture fashion,” said the representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, highlighting and expressing satisfaction for the fact that “a growing [Iranian] middle class” is increasingly requesting ‘Made in Italy’ products.
