Ansaldo STS signed a contract with Salini Impregilo, the winner of the call for the design and construction of the underground rail connection between the Central Business District and the Airport of Perth (Forrestfield Airport Link). This amounts to 44 million Australian Dollars (31 million euros) for supplying a complete signaling and telecommunication system for the railway link.
The achievement of the provision by Ansaldo STS, the Italian holding company of the Japanese Hitachi Group, consolidates Italian participation in the Forrestfield Airport Link, a major infrastructural project of the State of Western Australia. It has recently begun the construction phase with delivery expected by 2020.
