The delegation, led this year by the Undersecretary of State for Economic Development, Ivan Scalfarotto, also include Michele Scannavini, President of the ICE Agency, Licia Mattioli, Vice-President of Confindustria for Internationalisation and Guido Rosa, Vice-Presidente of ABI for Internationalisation. The multi-sector mission is scheduled to visit New Delhi and Mumbai and to focus on specific sectors: Infrastructure and Construction, Mechanics, Automotive, Renewable Energies and ICT. It is an important opportunity to increase economic cooperation between the two countries and develop both business and investment opportunities for Italian companies. “We’re going to India with a particularly strong and qualified delegation – said the Undersecretary of State for  Economic Development Ivan Scalfarotto -, which is essential for developing relations with an extraordinarily important country in economic as well as geographical and demographic terms. The sixth biggest economy on the planet  has also recently shown signs of great dynamism, supported by public policies that are creating considerable opportunities for Italian businesses, connected both with the infrastructure-building and development processes taking place in the country and with the presence of an expanding middle class, with lifestyles and levels of consumption that are particularly favourable for the market penetration of Italian excellence products”. On 27 April, the Italy – India Business Forum will be held, followed by a session of business meetings between Italian and Indian companies. The mission will end in Mumbai, where the Investments Forum will take place on the morning of 28 April, at the St. Regis hotel, followed by another round of business meetings with operators from the region.
