USA: Renexia wins Maryland wind power contract

Renexia (Toto Group) and its North American subsidiary company, US Wind, have won a contract to supply wind power to the State of Maryland. The contract is part of an auction the Italian group  won in 2014 to develop a  wind farm project off the coast of  Baltimore. Once the planning and data acquisition phases were completed in  December 2016, US Wind officially sent out a proposal for a 20-year supply contract to the Maryland competent authorities , that today approved the proposal.

The 3.3 billion dollar contract will provide a total of 250 MW power supply  starting in 2020,  meeting  40 percent of the State’s renewable energy demand. It will cater to a population of about 500,000 households. To implement the project’s first phase (supply is expected to increase up to 750 MW), the company estimated that over 5,000 jobs will be created, with  a 1.3 billion dollar investment.

Cameroon: an agri-food project to be implemented with Italian partners

The building of an agri-food plant  is now under way in Dzeng, approximately 80 kilometres from the capital city of Yaounde. The plant will include animal husbandry  activities and  the processing of poultry meat.  The project is based on a partnership between a  Camerounian investor and Italian companies. The investment wil finance the installation of a modern slaughter line with an automated suspended chain, tanks, machinery and technologies for the total processing of poultry meat. Also automated packaging systems and processing of by-products, along with cooling and freezing equipment will be provided. Developed in cooperation with a consortium of Italian companies (Faza from Rome, Imas Gruppo Mancini from Carpi), the project will also be supported by the Government of Cameroon. It is part of the activities developed following Italy’s participation in the Salon Promote 2017 and the entrepreneurial mission led by Deputy Minister Mario Giro, in the past month of February.
