Algiers – Arab music with an Italian twist

The Italian Cultural Institute in Algiers tonight will open its doors to music. Nabil Hamai, a violinist and a composer, will perform in the institute hall ‘Un quadrato di cielo’, a homage to Italian and Algerian music. Nabil will be accompanied by Ahmed Kareb (piano), Nardjess Reguieg (voice) and Mabrouk Hamai (qanun). Son of the acclaimed musician Mabrouk Hamai, a great Algerian player of qanun and conductor of folk and Arab-Andaluz music, Nabil Hamai graduated in violin from the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Turin in 2017.
