The National and International Round Table for the Promotion of Folk and Amateur Music, established within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, sent a questionnaire on the non-profit sector to all mayors in Italy, aimed at marching bands, choirs, parish choirs and folk groups.
This was announced by Antonio Corsi, Chairman of the National and International Round Table, who emphasised that the initiative is vital for the future and survival of these organisations, which are part of Italy’s cultural, musical and social heritage. “The future of our marching bands, parish choirs and folk groups also depends on their voice. It is now time to make that voice heard. We are asking all mayors in Italy to cooperate as a matter of the utmost urgency: every reply is important for safeguarding an irreplaceable part of our national identity,” he said.
The call to Italy’s 7,894 mayors is to distribute the questionnaire to all associations within their local areas, collect the replies and forward them to the Ministry, with a view to identifying the problematic issues in the legislation on the Non-Profit Sector and putting forward proposals for legislative changes and amendments capable of providing concrete solutions to the associations’ needs.
Municipalities shall send the completed questionnaires to the following address: antonio.corsi@esteri.it
The deadline for submitting entries is 12:00 noon on 6 November 2026.
