The Farnesina hosts the Seminar entitled: “Pluralism and integration in the Indonesian and Italian societies: challenges, prospects and opportunities”, organised by the MAECI in conjunction with the Embassy of Indonesia in Rome and the Comunità di S. Egidio.
Cooperation between Italy and Indonesia has long pursued interreligious and inter-cultural dialogue: in 2015, at the first bilateral talks opened in Jakarta by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, one of the three panels of discussion was precisely dedicated to interreligious dialogue.
“It is an effective instrument against intolerance and discrimination, insofar as it makes it possible to enhance mutual knowledge between different faiths and cultures and promotes respect for the other,” said Minister Alfano.
