Argentina: INC Spa wins a 1.9-billion-dollar highway construction contract
The Turin-based INC Spa, an Italian construction company belonging to the FININC Group, won a tender for public-private partnerships worth 1.863 billion dollars for the construction of the ‘A’ Road Corridor in Argentina.
The contract concerns the construction (over 5 years) and the concession (for 15 years) of two sections of a road network which is planned to have a total layout of almost 700 km, including the ‘Ruta 3’ (between Las Flores and Coronel Dorrego) and ‘Ruta 226’ (between Olavarria and Mar Del Plata). INC Spa, an Italian company specialised in major construction projects, will carry out the work in partnership with local companies Paolini Hnos SA and Vial Agro SA. The project is part of the infrastructure development plan launched by the Argentinian government through tenders that rely on the new law on public-private partnerships. In the highway sector alone, a two-year programme was implemented with the allocation of 12 billion dollars as part of a broader road investment project worth 35 billion dollars. The programme stretches to 2027 and provides for the construction of 2,800 km or new highways and the start of numerous road rehabilitation works for a total of 825 works and 250 engineering projects.
