Mozambique: SAIPEM signs a 6 billion dollar contract for Anadrako onshore LNG project
Saipem, the leader of a joint venture with USA-based McDermott International and Japanese Chiyoda Corporation, signed a contract for the engineering and construction of the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) onshore project contracted by Anadarko, Area 1 operator, in the Rovuma Basin, Cabo Delgado Province, in Northern Mazambique. Saipem leads the CCS JV s.c.a.r.l. company, the three partners established in Italy to develop the project. Saipem’s portion of works amounts to approximately 6 billion US dollars.
The project includes the construction of two LNG trains having a total capacity of 12.88 million tons/year (MTPA). Port facilities for export purposes and storage tanks are included in the project infrastructure.
