Italian Economic Diplomacy 04 February: latest news from the world

SERBIA – THE SERBIAN ENVIRONMENT MINISTRY SIGNS A COOPERATION PROTOCOL WITH THE ITALIAN COMPANY NOVAMONT.

A cooperation protocol was recently signed in Belgrade by the Environment Minister, Goran Trivan, and the CEO of Novamont, Catia Bastioli, for developing a separate waste collection system for urban, industrial and agricultural waste, aimed at the production of bioplastics, in one or more Serbian cities.

The agreement is part of a much broader collaboration framework between Italy and Serbia, in the field of the environment, agriculture and scientific and technological cooperation, and represents a concrete response by the Italian production system following the visit by the Italian Environment Minister, Sergio Costa, last October.

Novamont is a global leader in the bioplastics and biochemical sectors. Very active in the use of renewable resources, the company has four production plants, two research facilities and holds over 1800 ‘green chemistry’ patents, thanks to which it has been able to launch numerous projects and prestigious partnerships with public and private entities around the world.
