A new shipment of medical aid donated by Serbia to Italy is due to arrive today at Fiumicino airport. A gesture of friendship, solidarity and gratitude from Belgrade towards Italy, which was one of the first countries to send aid to Serbia after the disastrous floods in May 2014, as the President of the Serbian Republic Aleksandar Vucic recalled on Saturday at the departure ceremony of the first four flights loaded with medical equipment.
The donation consists of four million surgical and epidemiological masks, one million gloves and 100,000 protective health suits. On April 25th, at Fiumicino airport, the Serbian Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic personally handed over the aid shipment to Minister Di Maio. On one of the boxes containing the sanitary material, President Vucic wrote a message in Italian: ‘Vinceremo insieme. Coraggio Italia. La Serbia è con voi’
