An important new contract has been signed between Maire Tecnimont and a consortium formed by Sonatrach with the two partners PTTEP (Thai) and PVEP (Vietnamese).

The contract, of Engineering, Procurement & Construction – EPC, has a value of 400 million euros and concerns the expansion of the existing oil treatment plant in the Bir Sebaa oil field, located between El Oued and Hassi Messaoud, in the heart of Algerian oil production.

The objective is to increase production at the Bir Sebaa field, which at the end of this second phase will be able to produce up to 40,000 barrels per day (100% more than the current production).

Maire Tecnimont will take care of the detailed engineering studies, of the supply of materials and equipment, of construction and commissioning. The project includes gas lift and water injection systems, additional collection facilities and over 400 km of hydrocarbon pipelines connecting 33 production wells with the treatment plant. The project is expected to last 40 months.
