MOROCCO –  AGREEMENT SIGNED BETWEEN ANFIA AND AMICA

A collaboration agreement has been signed between ANFIA (the National Association for the Automobile Industry) and AMICA (Association Marocaine pour l’Industrie et la Construction Automobile) for the development of their supply chains and production ecosystems in Italy and Morocco. The meeting was attended by the ANFIA DG, Gianmarco Giorda, the President of AMICA, Hakim Abdelmoumen, and representatives of the Stellantis, Renault, and Magneti Marelli groups along with those of various entrepreneurial bodies operating in the Moroccan automotive sector.

This agreement is a qualitative leap in the relations between these two trade associations, and an important step in strengthening Italian-Moroccan industrial relations. The objective of the operation is to encourage the transfer of technical skills relating to specific processes, such as for plastic materials, as well as to assist companies in developing joint ventures and support the development of training schools for Moroccan technicians in the sector.

In addition to the immediate advantages in terms of strengthening the existing collaboration, the agreement between ANFIA and AMICA will also be able to further enhance the Italian presence in the industrial ecosystems of Renault and Stellantis, both of which make significant use of Italian components and are increasingly interested in making Morocco a logistics and production centre for the whole wider Mediterranean region.
