Mermec has won the tender published by Belgian railways (Infrabel) for the supply of railway infrastructure diagnostics trains. The contract is worth between 50 and 90 million euro, depending on the number of trains required.
The product provided by the Italian company includes very high-technology trains that can travel at 200 km/h in “bimodal” fashion, using electrical drive powered by pantograph, and using batteries, at up to 120 Km/hr. Mermec’s offering is notable for its levels of excellence and technological potential, in line with the environmental standards required by Infrabel.
