Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, attending the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)

The Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, took part in the High-Level Week of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York from 17 to 20 September.

The focus of the mission was the issue of migration, which the Deputy Prime Minister discussed at several UN events and during numerous bilateral meetings with his counterparts and with the heads of international organisations competent in the field. Ample space was devoted to Africa, a priority for Italian foreign policy, and the Western Balkans, a region where Italy is playing an increasingly prominent role in accompanying its integration into the European Union.
