Missione del Sottosegretario Giro in Perù

Under-Secretary Giro’s mission to Peru began today and will continue until 11 October. The key issues for discussion are President Humala’s participation in the 6th Italy-Latin American Conference, which will take place in Rome in December 2013, and Peru’s presence at Expo Milano 2015. The Under-Secretary will also address the Parliament of the Republic of Peru and the Forum on Biodiversity to underscore the contribution made by Italian Development Cooperation through debt cancellation.

“Peru is a key economy in South America, with average growth rates of 6% and a deficit of zero. It is a country that is showing great interest in our medium-sized companies and our experience in protecting and capitalising on the artistic, historic and cultural heritage. Bilateral cultural and economic links are growing ever-stronger, helped by the dynamic Peruvian community in our country. The Italian courses organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Lima are very well attended and the Italian school is considered to be one of Peru’s leading educational institutions”, declared Under-Secretary Giro. He also announced plans for members of the Italian Government to visit Lima in the near future.
