The Role of the Italian Cooperation at the 2015 Milan EXPO: priority concerns, messages and initial ideas for activities to be carried out within the framework of the event, were the topics addressed today at the foreign ministry in Rome. Deputy Minister Lapo Pistelli participated in the meeting along with UN EXPO Commissioner Rojas Briales and representatives of the European Commission and the Società EXPO, and Turin Mayor/ANCI Chairman Piero Fassino. The event also involved various System Italy Cooperation actors from NGOs, the private sector, the Movement for Cooperative and Ethical Financing, Italian universities and researchers in the fields of nutrition and food security.
“The Milan EXPO and global negotiations under way on a new post-2015 development agenda are very closely inter-related”, Deputy Minister Pistelli underscored in his opening address. “EXPO will be an exceptional opportunity to disseminate a big message, and well beyond the confines of the fair grounds”.
