Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini expressed deep concern over the latest developments in the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
The Italian government expressed the hope that the leadership of both countries would return to the table and refrain from further initiatives that could hinder dialogue. Italy continues to wholeheartedly support the American mediation and that the two parties must be ready to make difficult compromises in order to advance the talks at this critical juncture. The goal cannot be other than a two-State solution that ensures peace and security for both.
