Marò: Mogherini, bene rientro Latorre. Continuiamo a lavorare per soluzione

Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini has welcomed the news of the Indian Supreme Court’s decision to grant Massimiliano Latorre’s request to return to Italy for 4 months of medical treatment. “In recent weeks we have shared in the Latorre family’s concern over Massimiliano’s health. With this decision, which the Italian Government greatly appreciates, the Indian judges have recognised our marine’s poor state of health”, she commented.

“A period of rest will enable Massimiliano to make a full recovery, I hope, helped by the presence of his family and the utmost discretion on all sides”, she underscored.

“I would also like to express my special thanks to Salvatore Girone for the support he has shown his colleague”, continued the Minister.

Minister Mogherini concluded with an assurance that “Our satisfaction over the Supreme Court’s decision apart, the Italian Government’s strong determination to find a definitive solution to this dispute in a rapid timescale holds firm”.
