The Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Benedetto Della Vedova, arrived in Bucharest today, 15 October 2015, for a two-day mission to Romania.
During his visit, the Under-Secretary will meet the Foreign Minister, Bogdan Aurescu; the Minister for Public Finance, Eugen Orlando Teodorovici; the Deputy Foreign Minister, Daniel Ionita; and the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Valeriu Zgonea. Discussions will focus on building stronger economic relations between the two countries, migration policies and European security.
Senator Della Vedova will also meet representatives of Italian enterprises based in Romania and visit an Astaldi plant in the capital.
On the morning of Friday 16 October the Under-Secretary will attend the Bucharest Forum 2015 organised by the Aspen Institute Romania, where he will be taking part in two panels. One, with Deputy Minister Ionita, will focus on the European Union’s neighbourhood policy and the second, with the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Alexander Vershbow, will focus on the future of European security.
