Scalfarotto: France and Italy for a new transatlantic agenda

Under-Secretary Ivan Scalfarotto met today in Paris with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne.

During the meeting, the need for dialogue and shared solutions with the USA has been discussed to create a new and positive Transatlantic agenda and to resolve the matter of Airbus subsidies.

Sharing also on the action of the European Commission on the reform of the World Trade Organization and on the importance of integrating the action on climate change into the rules of international trade, particularly in the steel sector.

Having recognized the profound complementarity between the “productive fabrics” of France and Italy, respectively the second commercial partner for each other, with an exchange level of 72.4 billion in the first ten months of 2019.

The Under-Secretary then met with the representatives of the “Italy System” to investigate the presence and interests of our companies in France and to define the promotional policies of the ICE.

Scalfarotto’s European mission will continue in Berlin tomorrow.
