Minister Alfano will travel to the capital of the United Arab Emirates to chair the opening session of the 7th session of the Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency – IRENA, of which Italy currently holds the Chair. The Assembly is scheduled to start on 14 January at 10:00 am local time. The Italian Minister will meet IRENA’s General Director, Adnan Amin, prior to officially opening the Plenary Assembly. Upon concluding his remarks, Minister Alfano will go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to meet with his counterpart, Sheik Abdallah Bin Zayed Al Nayan.
He will then be received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Following his institutional meetings, Minister Alfano will travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai to attend a meeting to coordinate with the business community operating in the UAE. On 15 January, before heading back to Rome, Minister Alfano will meet the Commander of the Italian Task Air Force, Col. Leonardo Barone, and the Italian military personnel stationed at the Al Minhad Air Base.
