12th Conference of Italian Ambassadors (Rome, Milan, 24-27 July 2017)

“The 12th Conference of Italian Ambassadors is a great opportunity to debate and reflect on how the Foreign Ministry, through its diplomatic and consular network, can increasingly represent value added for security and growth not only at national, but also at European level. Speaking at the conference will also be my French and Spanish colleagues, yet another confirmation of the firm Europeanist vocation of our foreign policy,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, in view of the 12th Ambassadors Conference entitled “Security and Growth: Challenges for Italy and Europe”, which will be held in Rome and Milan from 24 to 27 July.

The Conference will be attended by top-ranking State officials: the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Defence, of the Interior and of Economic Development, in addition to the Foreign Ministers of France and Spain.

In addition to the presence of institutional representatives, the several discussion panels will also be enlivened by Italian and foreign scholars, journalists and political analysts.

The debate will focus on the theme of growth, with “one-to-one” sessions between companies and ambassadors and a workshop hosted in the Milan headquarters of Assolombarda in which ambassadors will meet with the president, Carlo Bonomi, and the members of the Board of Directors, and also the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala.

The Conference will wind up at the Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, where the heads of our diplomatic missions, led by Minister Alfano, will exchange opinions with a restricted group of companies.
