“We are very satisfied with the adjudication of the 3.5 billion euro contract by Bahrain Petroleum Company to the international consortium led by Technip Italia. It is a relevant achievement that confirms the excellence of Italian industry in this sector,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano.
The recently adjudicated contract concerns the engineering upgrade and expansion programme of the Country’s only refinery, which will turn the plant into one of the most modern in the world, featuring the best possible parameters in terms of energy efficiency and respect for the environment.
“The excellent result, which confirms the very good bilateral relations with Bahrain, will consolidate the presence of Brand Italy in the Gulf region, increase the weight of our engineering and construction firms in the area and also have an important fallout in Italy, in terms of the supply of goods and services. This success is undoubtedly the fruit of the high quality of our enterprises but also of the staunch support given them by the Foreign Ministry,” Minister Alfano added.
“The role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the diplomatic and consular network – the minister concluded – is growingly decisive in interpreting the dynamics of foreign markets and in supporting and guiding our companies.”
